Incumbent Worker Training Grant Award
Baskerville-Donovan was awarded $29,519 and will invest an equal amount to train 55 employees. The engineering firm will offer training to employees at all three of its Northwest Florida locations: Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee. Baskerville-Donovan plans to provide three training modules. The first module, management training, brings together senior managers from all locations to share experiences, receive peer and employee assessments and evaluate future training needs. The second module integrates professional licenses and certifications, a requirement for engineers in Florida. Baskerville-Donovan is applying to become a certified training provider for the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and will offer group training sessions and certifications for its staff. The third training option, engineering career development, entails online training courses to advance software skills, mentoring for new engineers by company veterans and the development of an online resource library for individual research.
