FLORIDA’S GREAT NORTHWEST TO ATTEND WASHINGTON, D.C., CONFERENCE TO ATTRACT BUSINESS INVESTMENT TO THE STATE

NICEVILLE, Fla, June 6, 2019 – Florida’s Great Northwest will attend the 2019 SelectUSA Investment Summit, June 10-12, in Washington, D.C. The Investment Summit is an annual event connecting international companies with U.S. economic development organizations to facilitate job-creating business investment in the United States.

“Some of Northwest Florida’s most recent wins come from international companies,” said Bruce Vredenburg, board chairman of Florida’s Great Northwest. “As part of our proactive marketing and business development efforts, Florida’s Great Northwest will have the opportunity to meet with more than 1,000 potential business investors at the Summit and generate leads for our local communities.”

Past Investment Summit participants have announced more than $103.6 billion in new U.S. investment projects within five years of attending an Investment Summit, creating or retaining more than 167,000 U.S. jobs in the process.

“Global companies clearly see the benefits of investing in the world’s largest economy, and the SelectUSA Investment Summit is the event that connects companies to actual opportunities,” said Commerce Under Secretary Gilbert Kaplan. “Every attendee, speaker, business representative, and economic development official makes the Investment Summit successful, and I am proud of the incredible group of participants we will host in 2019.”

Nearly 3,000 attendees are confirmed for the 2019 Investment Summit, including over 1,250 business representatives from 70-plus global markets.

Foreign direct investment in Florida directly supports 348,800 jobs across several industries including business services, textiles and software & IT services. The United Kingdom, Spain and Germany were the top sources of foreign direct investment in Florida as of May 2019.
