Holmes County

Holmes County Development Commission (HCDC) has been branded “The Green Gateway to the Beaches.” It has purchased land and is in the process of developing a 250-acre Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) on the site. An EIP is a park featuring “Sustainable” manufacturing companies, creating economically and sound processes and procedures that minimize environmental impacts while conserving energy and natural resources. It enhances employee, community and product safety. It is not just sustainable manufacturing, but the products and services are for “Sustainability.”

Top Reasons

  • The local general aviation airport with its increase in runway length to 5,400 feet completed, and the available 60 acres of land for development, are ripe for a commercial takeover or partnership, potentially creating many new jobs.
  • The county has affordable greenspace for sale and or lease with sites from as few as 3 to as many as 1600 acres, sites that are ready for permitting and construction.
  • Many sites with over one mile of Interstate frontage very near the interchange. Also sites with frontage on Hwy 90.
  • Strong transportation corridor with Interstate 10 and Hwy 90 running east-west and SR 79 & 81 serving north-south. Also served by Florida Gulf & Atlantic Railroad for east-west freight.
  • Home to a vibrant and growing manufacturing sector.
  • One of ten counties in the Northwest Florida Rural Area of Opportunity eligible to offer additional incentives to new and expanding industries through Opportunity Florida.
