Probes Unlimited, Inc. (PUI) today announced the completion of its Florida expansion at its Holmes County facility, a move that scales the region's advanced manufacturing capabilities and injects nearly 30 new high-skilled jobs into the local economy.
The expansion marks a significant milestone for PUI, a designer and manufacturer of precision, custom-sensing devices for global industries, including aerospace, automation, scientific instrumentation, green & smart grid technologies, and commercial food service. By repurposing and renovating a large portion of the former Bonifay Middle School, PUI has transformed a local landmark into a state-of-the-art production hub equipped with high-end manufacturing technology.
"This facility represents more than an expansion for our company; it reflects our long-term commitment to Holmes County and Northwest Florida," said Ernie DeLany, President & CEO of PUI. "The strength of the local workforce and the support we've received from the community, region, and state have exceeded our expectations. We're proud to grow here and continue delivering the precision and quality our customers depend on."
The additional 3,000 square foot expansion was made possible through a $362,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund Grant from FloridaCommerce to the City of Bonifay. Where students once attended science labs, PUI technicians are creating high-accuracy temperature sensors for customers worldwide.
"The addition at Probes Unlimited is a testament to the strength and readiness of Holmes County's workforce and business climate," said Joe Rone, Executive Director of the Holmes County Development Commission. "We are proud that Probes Unlimited chose to invest here."
"It was May 2021 that we were all together announcing that Probes Unlimited would be expanding its operations to Holmes County in Northwest Florida," said Jennifer Conoley, President & CEO of Florida's Great Northwest. "The success of this project is a testament to the power of partnership and the proof that companies can expand and thrive in the resilient rural communities of Northwest Florida."
